COURSE OVERVIEW
Assess your ability to perform a rescue from a low-voltage panel!
A hands-on approach to reviewing and demonstrating your knowledge of low-voltage panel rescues. Prepare the worksite, perform a Low Voltage Rescue, contact emergency services, and properly follow up after the rescue is complete to pass the course.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Participants will learn how to
- Prepare and Audit the Worksite: Instantly scan the accident area for secondary hazards like standing water, metallic paths, or fallen live wires before approaching.
- Deploy an LVR Kit Correctly: Inspect and utilize standard Low Voltage Rescue Kit components under pressure, ensuring insulated gloves and rescue hooks are free of defects.
- Isolate Hazardous Energy Source: Locate and safely operate main isolation switches or circuit breakers to de-energize the compromised panel.
- Execute Safe Extrication: Correctly position and apply a non-conductive rescue hook to pull the victim away from the live electrical source without direct physical contact.
- Coordinate Emergency Care: Successfully manage emergency service communication (EMS) and deliver stabilizing post-rescue first aid, including burn management and CPR.
