COURSE OVERVIEW
Navigate high stakes situations where there is a risk of falling
In our Fall Protection simulation, you will select proper equipment to use safely, in a high stakes situation where there is a risk of falling. You’ll learn how to inspect the equipment for wear and damage to keep yourself safe, and successfully navigate through some risky situations with anchor points along the way
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Participants will learn how to
- Select Task-Specific Equipment: Evaluate elevated work orders to select the appropriate combination of full-body harnesses, shock-absorbing lanyards, self-retracting lifelines (SRLs), and connectors.
- Execute Pre-Use Gear Inspections: Physically audit personal fall arrest gear in VR, checking for frayed nylon webbing, compromised stitching, distorted D-rings, and deployed impact indicators.
- Identify Certified Anchor Points: Distinguish between non-structural site elements and certified anchorages capable of supporting required structural load thresholds (e.g., 5,000 lbs).
- Maintain 100% Tie-Off Continuity: Master the precise sequencing of dual-lanyard systems, ensuring the user is continuously anchored while transitioning between structural points.
- Calculate True Fall Clearance: Evaluate anchorage heights, lanyard lengths, deceleration distances, and safety factors to eliminate the risk of striking lower levels during a fall event
